The Rare Weaves: Kazak collection draws inspiration from antique patterns. This collection is a nod to the history of Caucasian Armenian carpet weaving. Each rug is hand-made using the nomadic style wool warp and wept foundation of high-quality Armenian wool. The Kazak designs hail from the western region of Armenia. The collection offers rugs in various sizes, each featuring vibrant colors and bold, archetypal designs. Each rug is one-of-a-kind and made outside of Yerevan, Armenia.
A floral Armenian Kazak weave wool rug in black, this Bakhtiar II rug is among our most distinctive Armenian carpet designs. Bakhtiar II was hand knotted in Armenia of 100% wool using our Kazak weave which has a pile height around a third of an inch. This rug has graceful, floral motifs in colors of light yellow, olive green, royal blue and ruby over a black field.

Our rugs are designed and photographed in the 8x10 size. If you are considering any other size, the design and/or scale will vary from this standard. Please reach out to our rug experts if you would like more information on a particular design in a specific size.

Our extremely handmade rugs may be of a slightly different size (up to 3 inches). This is due to the beautiful hand-knotted and hand-tufted nature of our rugs.
Cleaning and Care
Vacuum regularly. Loose threads should be trimmed with a scissor (do not pull!). Rug protectors are recommended. If your new rug is exposed to the sun, it is a good idea to rotate regularly to prevent uneven wear. Blot spills with a clean towel (white is best). Cleaning the entire rug should be handled by a professional rug cleaning service.
