How to Create a Custom Rug

Resize

Almost any Tufenkian design that speaks to you can be crafted to fit any space according to your measurements. Custom-size rugs give you options of unique shapes and proportions without losing the integrity of their original aesthetics or craftsmanship.

Create

Experience a world of possibilities with customization in color palette, design, material, and finish. Our color library contains over 1,200 colors, 450 of which are represented in our current collection of rugs. We can adjust the patterns and materials to create a piece that aligns with your vision and exactly meets your needs.

Sample

Prior to full production on your custom rug, we produce a strike-off sample to ensure it meets your standards. Once approved, we collect a deposit and proceed with production. Strike-off samples are created at 1’x1’ or 2’x 2’ sizes and are provided in four to six weeks.

Produce

It takes time and delicate care for an artisan to craft a custom rug. There are usually four workers collaborating on a 9x12 rug—which is made up of 650,000 to 1.5 million knots and takes 3,000 hours to craft!

 

Depending on the pattern, material, and country of origin, production can take anywhere from 90 days to six months. Time spent here results in a custom area rug that will be cherished over generations.

Deliver

We deliver your custom rug according to your preferences and project requirements. This can encompass anything from simple, front-door delivery to white-glove, hands-on installation to move and restore furniture placement.
